Even if they are still in good shape, these may need to be repaired. On second thought however, you realize that there are some things that are more important than your gadgets and these are your important papers or documents. And that’s the time you begin to panic and start locating them one by one, giving you more headaches. No need to worry though; now there is a solution to keeping your documents clean and dry and that is through document drying. Document drying is the process in which your documents are dried up and restored back to shape. The following are some easy and basic tips on document drying.

Personal documents and Identification Cards

Examples of these documents are birth certificates, marriage license, land titles, and others. The primary thing that you need to do with these documents once these have been wet is to take them out of the water, lay them on a dry flat surface and examine the damage done. Check if the text documents are still readable or not. If it is, then proceed with the document drying process. If not, then say goodbye to these papers and take action in having them replaced. For those that could still be salvaged, you will need dry air in restoring of documents by either hanging it outside or in front of a fan. Using of hair blower can also be used to dry up your documents but you have to be very careful to avoid electrocution. Once the documents have been dried up, lay them again on a dry flat surface until they return to their original shape.

Photographs

These are important to us since these are our reminders of some beautiful memories with loved ones and friends. It can bring back both happy and sad times in an instant, and can also bring one more closely to those loved ones far away. Photographs tell stories like from the time of one’s birth, growing up and going to adulthood. That’s why these things are also important to us. You can restore your photographs also through document drying which can be done even without restoration personnel. The first thing to do is to take all the photographs out of the water and examine the damage. If the images can still be identified, then the photographs can be restored. If not, bring it to a restoration expert. For restorable photographs, place it on a dry flat surface or blotting paper or paper towel to speed up absorption. If you’re using blotting paper, place the paper one at a time, first on the front side then later on, on its back side. Then as the pictures dry, allow at least one day of keeping your photographs completely moist-free. Avoid drying them directly under the sun as it can cause your photographs to fold and lose quality and texture. Never put these back into frames or photo albums right away once it has completely dried.

From the instructions given above, you can see that document drying is quite easy and can be done by anybody. No more worries, no headaches and no cost.
